Associate Degree in Nursing
is comprised of 75 Semester Credit hours, which include theory, lab, and clinical rotation experience. This experience will cover medical, surgical, obstetric, pediatric, geriatric, and psychiatric nursing.

The Associate Degree in Nursing Program is comprised of 75 Semester Credit hours, which include theory, lab, and clinical rotation experience. This experience will cover medical, surgical, obstetric, pediatric, geriatric, and psychiatric nursing. Reinforcement of basic skills in English, Mathematics, and Sciences appropriate for the job preparatory program will occur through didactic instruction and applied laboratory procedures/ practice. This program is designed to prepare the graduate to utilize and apply the nursing process to provide nursing care to clients across the life span in a variety of settings. Upon successful completion of this program, the graduate will receive an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing and will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
The objectives of the RN programs in Florida are to provide the knowledge, clinical skills, nursing values, meanings, and experience necessary for an entry-level professional nursing position; this program will prepare the student for employment as a registered nurse. At the end of the ADN nursing degree, the graduate will:

Demonstrate knowledge of the health status and functional health needs of clients and families by using the nursing process to interpret health data.

Demonstrate knowledge in formulating nursing plans of care in collaboration with clients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.

Demonstrate knowledge in implementing a plan of care within the legal and ethical parameters.

Demonstrate knowledge in developing teaching and learning plans to implement with clients and families, whether directly or through assignment to other members of the healthcare team.

Demonstrate knowledge in providing care to multiple clients through direct care and/or delegation of care.

Demonstrate the use of critical thinking to analyze clinical data and current literature as a basis for decision-making.

Demonstrate ability to act as an advocate to promote quality healthcare for culturally diverse groups.
