PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN PROGRAM (PCT)

 

OBJECTIVE

 

This program is designed to prepare students for employment as Patient Care Technician, nursing aides, orderlies, and home attendants or home health aides, in nursing homes, Hospitals or to provide supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in this occupation. This program teaches the students in the theory (including the use of learning resource system materials, which are integrated in the program curriculum to enhance the educational process and to facilitate positive learning outcomes for students at entry level skill skills in all aspects of patient care assistance. The graduate is eligible for a Florida State Certification.

 

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

 

A student is eligible for graduation upon fulfillment of the following requirements:

1. Completion of all courses assignments

2. Maintaining a minimum overall GPA of 2.0

3. Fulfillment of all obligations to the school

 

DURATION

 

2 Terms: 24.5 CR/HR, 33 Weeks (660 C/H + 150 Work Outside Class)

(1 Term: 10.5 C/HR, 16.5 weeks, 2Term: 10.5 CR/HR, 16.5 weeks)
